Hello!
That's a Basidomycet.
So it is not Hypomyces. This might be Xylodon, Kneiffiella, Phlebia (Mycoacia), Phanerochaete, Cristinia...Without microscopic characters it is completely impossible to dtermine fungi like this one.

Well - I don't know if it's the fault of the picture's author. Sometimes things are messed up by uploading, like pictures and names mixed or things like that.
But Yes, right: The picture on Mushroom Observer doesn't show a Hypomyces.
